Exciting news, as recent BA (Hons) Professional Photography graduate Ritchie Elder has secured another victory. Ritchie claimed first place in the International Photography Awards - Non Professional, People, Portrait category.

This is yet another accolade in the series of awards Ritchie has earned this year. It's no surprise, given his exceptional talent and the professional quality and attitude he brings to his work.

Award judge Claudia Grimaldi Marks commented "I liked this series and how confrontational the portraits are without passing judgement. They are rich and graceful, I would love to see more".

Edinburgh College Photography wishes to extend heartfelt congratulations on his accomplishment.

His winning series Ritchie states Faith’ is a documentary project exploring the diversity of religious experience and identity in Edinburgh through environmental portraiture. By examining the intersection of faith and personal identity, my project highlights the unique ways religion is expressed across various communities in Scotland. As an emerging photographer, this work has challenged me to collaborate with a diverse range of subjects and to explore how culture and faith continue to adapt within contemporary Scottish society.

The International Photography Awards™ conducts an annual competition for professional, amateur, and student photographers on a global scale, creating one of the most ambitious and comprehensive photo competitions in the photography world today.
