BIPP Student Awards UK 2016

2016 has been an incredible year for Edinburgh College Photography Graduates. It has certainly kept me busy on social media with the overwhelming amount of awards the class of 2016 have won, as well as the exhibitions interviews and features via the AOP, BIPP Scotland, Source Online Review, Trajectory, Photograd, Free Range Shows, Exposed 16,and Futureproof (Street Level Photoworks). Not to mention the successes of our Alumni and the Retina Emerging Talent Exhibition currently on show in Edinburgh.

As this academic year comes to an end, I am pleased to announce the results of the British Institute of Professional Photography UK Student Awards. Just announced, the Student Photographer of the Year Award goes to Greg Abramowicz along with the Commercial Award and the College Award 2016.

Greg is an outstanding student with a very professional approach to his work and a well deserved winner.

To add to the success further awards go to Pavel Tamm (Runner-up in the Commercial category for 'Fashion Colours' as well as the Visual Arts category 'People and Their Lives'). Laura Feliu is the Winner and Runner-up in the Open category for her two portfolios 'The Mist' and 'The Surreal Body'.

Laura is currently in her second year of study and is about to enter the third year BA, looks like a promising year ahead.

Once again Edinburgh College Photography students have won most of the Awards but a special mention must go out to the Visual Arts category Winner, Suzanne Forest of The Robert Gordon University. Edinburgh College has just validated the BA Professional Photography course with the Robert Gordon University (Greys School of Art) which will provide an excellent partner for the future of photographic education in Scotland.

What a great end to the academic year, congratulations to all of our graduates, watch this space.
