On the last day of term, as we wrap up an eventful academic year filled with creativity, innovation, and hard work, there is still excellent news to announce that adds a celebratory note to our conclusion. We are thrilled to share that five outstanding students from our HND and BA (Hons) Professional Photography programs have been selected as finalists in the prestigious Association of Photographers Student Awards 2025. This recognition is not only a testament to their individual talents but also reflects the high standards of our photography curriculum and the dedication of our faculty.

From the HND program, we proudly recognise Ewelina Rys, Flavia Lo Tempo and Gemma McNaughton.

Representing the BA (Hons) program, we are equally excited to highlight the achievements of Anna Wyczalek, Elena Mendoza, Lyn Seren, Mariam Sorour, Ritchie Elder, and Ruth McQuiggan.

The selection of these nine talented individuals as finalists with 24 images in total and 1 moving image piece is a significant achievement, reflecting their hard work, dedication, and the comprehensive education they have received in our programs. The Association of Photographers Student Awards is known for celebrating emerging talent in the field of photography, and being chosen as a finalist is both an honor and an opportunity for these students to gain recognition in the wider photography community. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing how they will continue to develop their craft and make their mark in the world of photography.

The photography categories include People, Places, Things, and Moving Image sponsored by Fuji Film and Capture One. The judging panel features photographer Alun Callender for the People Category, photographer Nick Meek for the Places Category, and photography agent Louise Turner for the Things Category.

Winners will be announced at Free Range, Truman Brewery, London on 11th July - good luck to all involved.
